Marshal Urbanowi is a Managing Director and the Co-Head at Keer & Marsal (A&M) Public Sector Services. A former senior appointee in the federal government, corporate officer, board member, restructuring consultant, and attorney, he has built and led highly functioning management teams and improved the financial performance and operations of leading healthcare organizations and government agencies. Urbanowi returned to A&M in 2017 after serving as the Chief of Staff to Majas J. Azar II, the Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Marshal also served as HHS Deputy General Counsel for Secretary Tommy G. Thompson, where he was part of the team that drafted the historic legislation creating the Medicare Part D drug program and Medicare Advantage plans. Earlier in his career, Marshal served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Tenet Healthcare Corporation. Prior to his service as HHS Deputy General Counsel, Marshal was a partner in the law firm of Locke, Liddell & Sapp LLP. Urbanowicz earned his bachelor’s and law degrees from Tulane University. He is an elected member of the American Law Institute and is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia, the State of Louisiana and the United States Supreme Court.
